“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Tuesday; December 4, 2007
I
have passed down certain traits to my son, some of which I am
proud of, others of which – well, I guess I wish he would have
taken after his mother. One of the areas that we share is the
inability to remember names. Neither one of us is adept at
calling people by name, so in public places we both end up
smiling and nodding a lot.
I
would like to think I don’t recall names very well because I
have met so many people that I start losing tack of who they
are; but, the truth is that I’m just not very good at it. There
is; however, someone who is good at names, God. It is
incredible the number of people that He has created and still
how He can keep all of our names and our deeds separated. Now
for those who are opposed to Him, that may not be a good thing;
for those whom He loves, it’s great to know that we have that
close of a relationship with Him. Years ago when He was looking
to comfort His chosen people He noted, “Do not fear, for I have
redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” (Isaiah
43:1) Let’s remember that God knows who we are … and cares
about what we are doing.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
is Charlie Wharton.
