“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; December 6, 2007
Does it ever seem like life just isn’t fair? The more we are
around life it appears that those who take moral shortcuts or
those who are able to put their consciences on hold seem to beat
the system. Without morals and values, it’s easy to take the
low road and (seemingly) come out ahead.
While it might appear that way through human eyes, the One who
will judge us all has made a promise to us. Thousands of years
ago, God inspired one of His writers to note, “Do not fret
because of evildoers, Or be envious of the wicked; for there
will be no future for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked will
be put out.” (Proverbs 24:19-20). The interesting thing about
this passage is that God doesn’t set it within the context of
time. For a while, it might appear that people are hoodwinking
fairness; but, one day, someday, they will receive justice.
Let’s keep up our good work. We may not seem to be making much
headway in life; but, eventually, just like the tortoise who
outran the hare, we’ll win the race.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
is Charlie Wharton.
