“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Friday; December 14, 2007
You
can tell a lot from a quick glance into a family’s home and if
you were to take a look at ours you would soon figure out that
Jeane and I love the tropics. From the pictures of white sandy
beaches on our walls to the conch shells on the bookshelves, we
try to keep the warmth of the seaside as close as possible.
Even when there is snow on the ground or a chill in the air, a
quick glance reminds us that something warm and wonderful awaits
us.
Have you noticed how prevalent the writings about heaven are in
the Bible? From Jesus’ promises of an eternal home with Him to
John’s glimpses into the glory of the great beyond, the story of
heaven is a major theme in God’s word. I don’t think these
citations are merely prooftexts for the surety of heaven, I also
believe that they serve as a constant reminder of what awaits
those who endure the troubles and struggles of the world.
Are
you having a tough day? Open the Book and let a little of the
Sonshine of heaven in … it’s bound to brighten even the
gloomiest days!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
is Charlie Wharton.
