“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Tuesday; December 25, 2007
As
I reflect, I can honestly quote the holiday classic and say it’s
been a wonderful life. So much of my life has been directly
influenced by a relationship with a church. I grew up in a
preacher’s home. I spent over twenty years working for
churches. Even my marriage (which has it’s roots in a religious
college environment) can be related back to my relationship with
a church.
While the church has had a major influence in my life, that
would have all been for naught if it hadn’t been for that day
when Jesus came off of the throne of heaven and appeared in a
manger. That day changed the world – but, in a very special way
– it changed me.
As
you celebrate in your own way today, take some time to reflect
upon the blessing that Jesus has had in your life. If nothing
else, let’s take a moment during the day to note, as the angel
did, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men
with whom He is pleased." (Luke 2:14).
From the church to you … and from our family to you … we wish
you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
