“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; December 27, 2007
If
you are a parent, there is one thing that you will hate to hear
over the next few days – “Mom, I’m bored!”. Without school
occupying our children, it can be easy for them to become bored,
the result of which can either be melancholy or mischief.
While boredom can be an ailment of our youth, it can inflict any
of us at any stage of life. Becoming disinterested in our
surroundings can be a challenge, not just because we grow weary
with our existence; because, it can truly impact our quality of
life. When we get bored, one of two thing traditionally
happens. Boredom will manifest itself either in withering or
wandering. When we grow bored we will either shut down and
become complacent or we will start trying to fill our days with
excitement which can often times lead to trouble.
Whether we are twelve or seventy-two, let’s do our best to stay
busy and productive. Not only will it be good for our mental
health, it could be good for our spirituality as well.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
is Charlie Wharton.
