“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Wednesday; November 7, 2007
Those of you who are Packer fans had faith that it would happen
– those of us who are Bronco fans, feared it would happen … and
it did. Immediately after the kickoff in overtime, Brett
Favre wound up and fired a game-winning touchdown. It
didn’t take long and Monday Night Football was over.
People can say a lot about the Packer great; but, maybe the
greatest thing that can be said about him is as long as there is
time, there is hope.
The ability to have faith in someone transcends a little boys
game for big bucks, there is an eternal element to it. If
we have faith that God can make anything right our lives can be
changed forever. If we believe that as long as there is
life, God can deliver us, we have hope that something wonderful
can happen. Some people might mock our hope; but, when we
have faith that God is alive and well just think about how
secure can we be in our belief! Maybe the greatest
assurance comes from our opponents, the demons who, “… also
believe, and shudder” (James 2:19)
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
