“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; November 8, 2007
When we appeal to God, through prayer, to intervene in our
lives; do we really mean it? I’m sure that when we pray to
God, there is a sense of earnestness in what we seek; but,
are we willing to take any extra steps we need to make it
happen? Through a recent discussion, I was reminded that
sometimes it’s not enough to seek God’s intervention in our
lives, there will be times when we need to show our
commitment to God by promising Him that we will whatever it
takes to make our request happen!
Prayer is a wonderful conduit through which a mighty power
can flow; but, how much more powerful can if be if we have
the commitment to show God that we are really serious about
the requests we make of Him. How much more effective will
our prayer lives be if we make a plea to God, then pledge we
will be willing to do whatever it takes to make our requests
possible. No, that doesn’t mean that we believe that the
source of blessings comes from within us; but, it does prove
to God that we are serious in our appeal.
