“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Monday; November 12, 2007
One of the most unique days that we celebrate in this nation
is Veteran’s Day and, to me, the reason the day is
extraordinary is because it is not a reminder of some great
person or accomplishment; rather, it honors the everyday
heroes of our nation. Veteran’s Day is not about leaders,
politicians or parties, it’s about the men and women who
took time out of their everyday lives to make this nation
what it is. These folks invested a portion of their lives,
careers, health and well-being to make sure the values we
hold dear can be displayed in a free and open society.
Today, as we honor our veterans, let’s remember them, not
just as warriors; but, as community heroes. You see, not
only did they display valor in service to their country,
most of them came home to model those principles as parents,
teachers, businessmen and neighbors. Veterans, thanks for
all you did … and thank you for who you continue to be!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
