“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; November 15, 2007
Good intentions … it’s a positive sounding phrase; but, is
it really? Most people have good intentions; but, when it
comes right down to it, do we have the commitment to do what
it takes to transfer intent into action.
While this can come to light in a variety of ways, one of
the most notable is when it comes to spiritual growth. Most
of us like the idea of developing a spiritual maturity; but,
are we really ready to invest in what it takes to move on to
a higher level. Decades ago, the great philosopher Will
Rogers noted, “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get
run over if you just sit there.” We can have the best of
intentions; but, unless we are willing to move forward,
we’ll be overwhelmed by one of the greatest forces known to
man – the plague of lethargy.
If we really want to grow into who and what we can be, let’s
dedicate ourselves to learning and practicing advanced
spiritual living. It might not always be the easy life;
but, it will be well worth our effort.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
