“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Friday; November 16, 2007
In my home office I have a nifty iron with all sorts of
fancy knobs and controls and a very complex ironing board
that must be a good because it takes me several minutes to
figure out how to set it up. My issue is that while I have
all this stuff in my office, in my closet I have wrinkled
shirts. You would think that with the tools and fabric so
close together I would be a sharp-dressed man … but, it’s
apparent that something is missing.
I recently read a factoid that said 92% of American
households had Bibles. You would think that with Bibles
that prevalent our world would be less flawed. The issue
with our lives – just like with my wrinkled shirts is that
we don’t apply the tool to the problem. The Bible itself
notes, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in
righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate,
equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:16-17)
Let’s take our Bibles for a walk this weekend – first, under
our arms as we go to worship God, then within our hearts as
we live our lives.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
