“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The
older I get the more I remember how much I forget. While it
might be embarrassing to forget someone’s name or an
appointment; to me the most frustrating thing about this ailment
is forgetting where I put stuff and losing it. One of the most
notable places where this happens is in my car. I have been
known to lose briefcases, sunglasses, phone cords and a host of
other things; but, the worst thing to lose are the keys. I can
function without a lot of stuff; but, when I lose my keys, I
have lost my ability to go anywhere.
There is a parallel to this in our relationships. There are a
lot of things that we can lose in our relationships – we can
forget to say “thank you”, we can misplace our manners from time
to time, we can even forget an important anniversary – and, it
might take a while; but, eventually our relationships will
probably recover. Yet, when we lose trust, we have lost a key
that keeps our relationships going.
Are
we trustworthy? Let’s guard our trust with all that we have or
we could end up being locked out of all of our relationships and
left all alone.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
is Charlie Wharton.
