“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I hope that you made it though April Fool’s Day, 2008
without much trouble. Isn’t it great that we only have to
live through people being foolish one day each year!
Actually, foolish living isn’t confined to one day a year;
nor is it merely where people try to put something over on
someone else. All too often, foolish living is all around
us. While our society isn’t too fond of the word “fool”,
the Bible isn’t afraid to use it in its purest form. There
are several places in the Scriptures that highlight foolish
living; but, one as prevalent today as it was on the day it
was written is described by the passage that notes, “The
fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools
despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7) The wise
man, Solomon, observed that believing in God and pursing His
ways show wisdom; any other type of life is folly.
Let’s not get caught up in “Every Fools Day”. Let’s seek to
know God and live according to His truth.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
