“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I remember when our children were young they would want to
display a spirit of independence and tell us, “I can to do
it myself!”. Often, it would have been a lot easier for us
as parents to do it; but, sometimes it was better for them
to learn on their own. There would; however, come a time
when either safety, frustration, ineptness or even the mere
interest of time would require us to pitch in and help them
out.
As children of God, there are times when show that same
independent streak? We look at our situation and, in the
arrogance of humanity, we tell God that we want to take care
of our own problems. Sometimes, we manage; but, what
happens when we find ourselves becoming frustrated with the
problem or facing an issue that we just can’t handle? Are
we like a two-year-old and plow ahead endangering ourselves
or are we willing to show some maturity; admit our
shortcomings and ask for His help?
Are we frustrated with an issue of life? Are we ready to
let go and let God?
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
