“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
If you were going to go on a trip to a place you’d never
been; what would you do? When most people are confronted
with this situation, they consult their trusty map and plot
their course. Whether it comes via the internet or from the
folded up copy in our glovebox, a map can be a lifesaver
when trying to pursue our destination.
In our spiritual lives, where do we want to go? Most of us
would answer something like “to an eternal life with God”.
While many of us are on this quest, none of us has ever been
there before, so how do we know how to get there? The
answer is the same one found in any pilgrimage. If we are
looking for the way to heaven, we need a map … one that is
commonly called the Bible. Thousands of years before
MapQuest, a young believer was commended because he had “…
known the sacred writings which are able to give … the
wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in
Christ Jesus.” (II Timothy 3:15)
Are we on a course that leads to salvation? If not, let’s
get out the map and get back on track.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
