“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

          What good is religion?  I mean, when you think about it, with all the stuff that is going on in the world, really, how important is it to have a relationship with God?  There is crime in the streets, there is poverty everywhere we look, there are social and moral crises at epidemic levels!  With all this stuff going on, why should we worry about religion!

          The truth of the matter is that with all this stuff going on, religion is exactly what we should be worrying about.  At the heart of dealing with all the social problems is our relationship with God.  The key to loving families, a good community and a successful nation is in developing a kinship with the King.  Years ago, the Bible noted, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain.”  (Psalm 127:1)  There is value in teaching morals and administering social programs; but, at the heart of a successful entity is a relationship with God.  Let’s do what we can to help solve the problems of the world; but, let’s begin by serving God.
