“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
When
we pray; what’s the focus of our prayer? Most of us, in
this part of the world, would agree upon the object of our
prayer life; but, when it comes to the message, there can be
as many themes as there are prayers. Yet, when we pray, do
we offer advice to God, do we complain about how He’s
dealing with us, do we constantly request something from Him
or are we taking time to thank Him for His intervention and
presence in our lives and our world?
One of the great things about prayer is that it can be as
personable as a conversation between a parent and a child;
but, as we approach God, we should do so with a proper
attitude. Often, one attitude rightly ascribed in prayer is
reverence; but, there is another way to approach God …
thankfully. The Bible directs our prayer life by observing,
“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an
attitude of thanksgiving …”. (Colossians 4:2)
Let’s pray constantly; but, as we do so, let’s be generous
with our thanks. The blessings will continue and our
attitudes will improve.
