“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Have you ever noticed how important water is in our world?
Farmers pray for the life-giving rain, newscasters talk
about the devastation of drought and floods, lawyers argue
water-rights cases all the way up to the Supreme Court. If
that’s not enough, how many casual conversations have begun
with a simple, “Well, you think it’s going to rain
tonight?”.
Water is such a vital element of life that even Jesus used
it to describe His ways. When He was evangelizing the world
He contrasted liquid water with a spiritual kind by noting,
“… whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall
never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall
become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
(John 4:14). The words, example and religion of Jesus are
as necessary to sustaining eternal life as the H2O to our
physical existence.
Has our religion grown stale? Are we parched for something
of value in our lives? Jesus has the answer and is ready to
shower it’s blessings upon us.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
