“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
What are you doing this weekend? Last Sunday was considered
“Super Sunday” when millions of us geared up for the day by
preparing all week for the Big Game. Many of us made plans
well in advance for what we were going to do, where we were
going to go and who we wanted to be with. Here it is
another weekend and how many of us can really remember the
score of the focus of our attention – the Super Bowl.
What does this weekend hold in store for us? Have we made
as many plans? Have we given as much thought to what we are
going to do this Sunday? No, there isn’t a big game on this
weekend, but there is something even more special – a chance
to worship God. Will all that excitement that surrounded a
ballgame (that is over and done) be matched by a chance to
worship the True and Living God? The Bible describes God
as, “…the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous
God.” (Deuteronomy 4:24). Do you think he wants to be
upstaged by a game? Now, let’s ask once again, what are you
doing this weekend?
Think about it!
