THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; February 14, 2008
Being a lover of sweets, I really enjoy Valentine’s Day. It
is one of the few days of the year we feel justified eating
candy. Hey, if someone cared for us enough to give us a
treat, it would be an insult NOT to eat it!
One of the great gifts of this day is chocolates. I like
most kinds of chocolates – as long as they are solid
chocolate all the way through. I have been known to poke
through (then pass up) those chocolate creams and have had
more than one false hopes when biting into a chocolate heart
only to find it hollow inside.
People are a lot like chocolates. On the outside most of us
look good; but, the true test comes from what’s on the
inside. There are a lot of people who look appealing on the
outside; but, are as hollow a chocolate shell when it comes
to what’s inside them. Others, similar to the chocolate
creams, look like the real thing on the surface; but, deep
down, they are something much different.
Let’s make it a point to be solid – filled with good inside
and out.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
