“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Friday; February 15, 2008
As we gather this weekend to worship God, what should be
doing? This may seem to be a bit of an odd question;
because we all know that we should be doing “church
stuff”. When we go to church, we do the things that seem
to be religious, then we shake a few hands, make a business
contact or two, complement the preacher and go home. In a
society where religion is a right, not a privilege, worship
isn’t a bad way to spend part of a day … but, can there be
more.
Thousands of years ago, King David; prayed a prayer of
worship and gave us a good outline for worship. David
appealed to God, “Let the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord,
my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14) When we come
together to worship, our actions and our attitudes should be
appealing to the Lord. Effective worship is more than
making an appearance at a place, it’s making an impression
on God and that begins by getting the right frame of mind
before we pull into the parking lot.
Think about it!
