“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Wednesday; February 27, 2008
While we all have certain expectations for our children,
imagine the type of pressure that would accompany a
statement like, “For a child will be born to us, a son will
be given to us; And the government will rest on His
shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah
9:6). While most people hope their children would become
the president, a professional ballplayer or even a rich
tycoon; this Child’s potential was Holiness.
Most of us recognize this prophecy was one written about
Jesus hundreds of years before He came to earth. The great
thing about this expectation wasn’t that it was made;
rather, it was that He made it. Jesus came to earth, lived
the perfect life, died a horrendous death; then was raised
to resume His place on the throne of God.
Let’s take some time today to worship the One who lived up
to all the hype and hope of His potential. The Son who made
good. The Son who was God.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
