“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Wednesday; January 9, 2008
If the capitol city of South Dakota is known for
anything during this time of year it is geese and legislators.
The geese have been here for a while; this week, we welcome the
lawmakers.
Over the past few decades, public service has seemed
to loose some of it’s luster; but, the truth of the matter is
that what these men and women do is still an important service
to their communities and our state. With the beginning of this
session, it is altogether proper that everyone recalls not only
the value of their service to their constituents; but, also
their responsibility to God. It is through their decisions,
that godly lives are made either easier or more difficult.
For those of us who send these representatives to
the capitol, let’s take time to pray for their wisdom. For
those who serve, always remember the words of the wise king,
“Loyalty and truth preserve the king, and he upholds his throne
by righteousness.” (Proverbs 20:28). May God bless the process
and the nation it will influence.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
