“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; January 10, 2008
Do
we allow life to get in the way of living? This may sound a bit
cryptic; but, when we ponder it, how often do we forget to enjoy
living the lives we have been given because we are too busy
handling all the things occupying our lives? We don’t marvel at
the sunrise because we are rushing around filling toasters with
frozen waffles and lunch boxes with peanut butter sandwiches.
We don’t enjoy the sunset because we are running children from
one practice to the next rehearsal. We miss out on living the
good life because we have laundry that needs to be done, bills
that need to be paid and walks that need to be shoveled.
Now, we aren’t advocating that people should become
irresponsible and forego commitments; but, maybe it’s time that
we slowed down and took control over the day-to-day constraints
of life. Let’s make it a point to smile more, visit different
places and just sit around and talk to each other. Life was
created by God to hold a wealth of abundance, are we taking
advantage of every bit of it we have been given?
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ; this
