“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Thursday; January 24, 2008
How do we approach prayer? First of all, if we are praying
at all there is something to be said for that; but, when we
do pray which best describes our approach: Giving God His
marching orders for our lives or our reporting for His
duty? There is value in making appeals to God; in fact, He
wants us to share our struggles and wishes with Him; but,
there is something even more important about prayer.
When we come before God in prayer, one important
characteristic should be a recitation of our willingness to
do His will. God is the Great Giver of blessings; but, He
is also a God of expectations. God is not a servant at our
beckon call, He has paid a ransom for our lives; therefore,
we belong to Him.
As we approach our prayer life, let’s not be shy about
asking for blessings; but, in each and every prayer, let’s
recall the words of the Lord’s servant, Isaiah, who heard
His call and then prayed, "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8)
