“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Wednesday; January 30, 2008
A few days ago a couple of us were heading down a path and
noticed a bald eagle sitting in a tree within swooping
distance from the entrance to a prairie dog den. As we got
closer to the eagle, it decided that it didn’t want to hang
around with us in the area, so it flew away. I don’t know
if the prairie dogs knew how close their adversary was; but,
through our intervention, they were safe.
Have you ever thought about how close we have come to being
devastated by the things that surround us? Whether it was
satan honing in on us or the events of the world making us
it’s prey, more times than we realize, we have been close to
becoming a victim. As we become aware of our deliverance
from these unseen events; we can either be thankful that
fate delivered us or we can believe that there was something
very real that intervened. God has promised to be around
and watch over His people, whether we are aware of it or
not. We will never know how many times He has saved us; so,
periodically, let’s thank God for His intervention. He has
been our help in the past and is our hope for the future.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
