“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

           There are a lot of people who are out there trying to find the right formula to make friends.  Interestingly, the answer is pretty simple – if you want friends start giving away stuff!  I am convinced that the generous person is the popular person; but, if you don’t want to believe me, how about this quote from the wise man of the Bible, “Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.”  (Proverbs 19:6) 

          Now having established the foundational key of friendship, let me explain what I don’t mean.  The generous person is not the guy standing on the corner handing out $100 bills – even that guy is going to make people upset with him – generous people are those who give of their time, graciously dispense forgiveness, offer an unending supply of smiles and are free with their compliments. 

          Are we looking to make friends?  If we aren’t having much luck, let’s take a lesson from those who have a lot of kids show up at their doorstep on Halloween and start being generous with the good stuff.
