“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
During the Viet Nam War, Captain Charlie Plumb was forced to
eject from his fighter jet into enemy territory. While
Captain Plumb ended up as a POW for several years, because
he safely parachuted to the ground he has served as an
inspiration to thousands of people.
Several years after Captain Plum was freed from captivity,
he was approached by a man said, “I packed your parachute.
Looks like I did a pretty good job!”. Captain Plumb agreed
and for the last couple decades has challenged people by
asking “Who’s parachutes are we packing?” You see, that
seaman on Kitty Hawk took the time to do his job right and
because of it, thousands of people have been impacted by a
story of survival and hope.
As we interact with people, are we providing them with the
foundational needs they have to make this world a better
place? The Bible reminds us, “… encourage one another, and
build up one another …” (I Thessalonians 5:11) because we
just never know how our figurative parachute-packing might
save one life or impact thousands!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
