“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
One
of our favorite sayings is “Why”? While some might take
that to the extreme, we live in a free country and have the
constitutional right to ask for an explanation.
Interestingly, though, there is another place where “why”
becomes an important question. How often have we wondered
why things happen to us? Why do we have trials? Why do we
have to endure whatever we have to endure? Maybe, our most
simple “why” is why me?
Several biblical writers make observations about why; but,
one of the most compelling is King David who, in the midst
of one of his greatest motivational devotions, credits God’s
wisdom by noting, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but
now I keep Your word.” (Psalms 119:67)
Why is whatever happening in our lives? We might not be
able to come up with a specifically simplistic answer; but,
we can be sure that if God is bringing the trial, we can be
made better if we are willing to endure to the end.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
