“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Boy
it sure was hot around here last week. We had one day where
the temperatures reached 98 degrees and the humidity hit
25%!
Now, there may be some of you who can commiserate with me;
but, honestly, that type of fussing doesn’t play too well
with my southern family. You see, they have been battling
muggy 90 degree weather for several months now. Frankly,
they really don’t want to hear me fuss about our one hot
day!
When we complain about life, do we consider our audience?
Do we gripe about our cars getting poor gas mileage to
someone who has to ride a bike to work? Do we fuss about
the gristle in our steaks to those who can barely afford
hamburger? Do we complain about our allergy flare-ups to
someone with emphysema?
The best lesson most of us can learn is to be contented with
what we have; but, a secondary lesson is that when we do
yield to the temptation to fuss; let’s avoid seeking
sympathy for our trials from those who are really troubled!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
