“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
When
Jesus lived here on earth, He was an attraction for a lot of
people; but, there were very few with whom He was close. In
addition to the core disciples, He spent a lot of time with
two sisters, Mary and Martha. One day, during His visit,
Mary was sitting around listening to Him, enjoying the
interaction; while Martha was busying herself with tidying
up the place. Martha tried to get Jesus to chastise Mary
for not helping; but, rather than admonishing Mary, Jesus
vindicated her desire to spend time with Him; because she
was doing what was important.
It’s easy to get sucked into doing the urgent tasks of life;
but, we must not overlook the important – not just attending
to the significant “things”; but, more importantly, spending
time with the essential people in our lives. Which is more
important: a catching a dustbunny or hugging a child,
making a business appointment or making a marriage, passing
one more class or passing on a heritage to the next
generation? Let’s take time to tend to our tasks; but,
let’s make time to touch lives.
