“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
In
our society, we value the liberty to think; but, we are
ultimately judged upon our actions. We aren’t held
accountable for thinking about doing a crime; we are judged
by what we do. Conversely, we don’t gain accolades for
having kind thoughts, it’s the acts that make the
difference.
In the world of righteousness, we will have to answer for
our explicit actions; but, there is another level of
accountability. Centuries ago when King Solomon observed,
“He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the
righteous, Both of them alike are an abomination to the
Lord.” (Proverbs 17:15) he brought righteousness out of our
actions and into our attitudes. It’s not just what we do
that makes the difference, it’s also how we feel about those
who do right and wrong.
Let’s make sure we do the right thing; but, let’s also
support the right people. Our lives will not only be judged
by how we act; but, also, by who we applaud.
