“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Are we doing the most we can do with our lives? We work
long hours and do a lot with what we have been given; but,
are we stretching ourselves as far as we should go? Often,
it’s easy to settle for what’s comfortable; but, does that
make us better? What could we do if we really challenged
ourselves?
Centuries ago, when God called the prophet Isaiah to work
with the people of Israel, He issued an interesting
challenge by saying, “It is too small a thing that you
should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to
restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a
light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the
end of the earth.”. (Isaiah 49:6) In other words, Isaiah
was doing a good work; but, God had bigger plans for him.
Most of us are doing something good; but, is it too small a
thing for us? Is there a bigger challenge we should
pursue? The question isn’t “Are we content with where we
are and what we’re doing?”, the real concern should be, “Is
God?”.
