“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A couple days ago, I heard the 1960 recording of a Boudleaux
Bryant song called, “Let’s Think About Livin’”. In the tune
the singer laments all the dyin’ and cryin’ in that day’s
modern music – from Marty Robbins showdown in El Paso City
to the heartache shared by Cathy’s clowns, the Everly
Brothers. The point to the song is enough about sadness,
let’s think about living life to it’s fullest.
Interestingly, the singer, Bob Luman, had a heart attack in
his late 30s and died at 41. I hope he listened to the
words of his song.
When we think about living, do we constantly focus on the
heartaches and hard times or are we filled with an
excitement for life? Are we uplifted by our potential do
the problems weigh us down?
If we are struggling with life; let’s set aside a portion of
this weekend and spend it with the God who makes life worth
living. Let’s make it a point to lay our burdens on our
spiritual altar and bask in the wonder of His glorious
presence. In other words, let’s think about what real livin’
can mean to our lives!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
