“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
According to history, King Solomon had at least seven
hundred wives and three hundred concubines. When he talked
about women, he probably knew what he was talking about. In
one of his observations about life the wise man noted, “A
foolish son is destruction to his father, and the
contentions of a wife are a constant dripping.” (Proverbs
19:13)
While women often take the hit from this proverb, I think
Solomon’s lesson goes deeper than a disgruntled husband. I
really believe that this is an adage about attitude.
Whether it comes from children, husbands or wives, a poor
attitude in a family is not only grating, it’s wrong. How
many of us go out of our way to show a positive face to the
world, only to come home and ruin our family’s day? How
many of us manifest a proper attitude to the public; but, a
poor one at home.
Let’s check our attitudes when we get home. If they aren’t
as good or better than the ones we show everyone else, let’s
get them fixed before we walk through the door.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
