“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
There is a story of a parent watching the High School
Marching Band perform during the halftime of a big game.
When the event was over the father beamed with pride; but,
the person next to him felt that the man wasn’t completely
satisfied with the effort. The bystander asked what was
wrong and the man said, “Well, I feel sorry for all the
other parents.” When asked why he said, “Well they have to
feel a little embarrassed because everyone was out of step
except my son, Johnny.”.
Do we ever feel like everyone is against us? Does it seem
like we are constantly butting heads with all the
hard-headed people who seem to be everywhere we are? Well,
maybe the problem isn’t with everyone else. Could it be
that we are the ones who need to adjust our attitude.
Thousands of years ago, a wise man observed, “When a man's
ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to
be at peace with him.” (Proverbs 16:7)
Let’s make it a point to know and do God’s will. When we do
that, we’ll be amazed at how easy everyone else will be to
get along with.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
