“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I remember, back as a child, the night seemed a lot darker.
When the big people would finally turn off the lights it
seems that you could just feel the darkness. During those
years, I also discovered an interesting scientific fact …
darkness carries sound. There were creaks and cracks that I
couldn’t hear with the lights on; but, the minute the lights
when out, they were all around me.
Today, as we live our lives it is easy to be overwhelmed and
intimidated by another form of darkness, the issues that lay
in the shadows. Things like, “What does the future hold?”,
“What will become of my job?” or “How will this setback
effect my life?” can be just as troubling to us as the bumps
in the night are to children. The great thing about this,
though, is that there is Someone who has conquered the
darkness for us. When the Bible speaks of God it reminds
us, “Even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is
as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.”
(Psalm 139:12).
Are we wrestling with worries and uncertainties? Let’s not
fear the darkness, let’s turn to the Light.
