“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It is easy to find a correlation between what we do and how
we feel; but, one of the most powerful acts on our emotional
nature comes from our mouths. Often we note that what we
say impacts how others feel; but, the truth of the matter is
that what we say will dictate our own feelings. While it
might seem that our emotions fashion our words, it is
equally true that our words impact our moods. If what we
say constantly is caustic and negative, it will breed
bitterness in our lives; but, if we take the effort to
center our discussion around kindness and encouragement, we
are more apt to have harmony and better health. In essence,
choosing our words chooses our attitudes.
Years ago a wise man noted, “Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” (Proverbs
16:24). Are we looking for a way to live a better and more
fulfilling life? It might begin with how we think; but, it
will be reinforced by how we speak.
