“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
What happens when we go to worship God? While each of us
has our own response to the Lord’s call, one that is often
overlooked is the sheer joy and excitement that could be and
should be found in gathering together with Him and His
saints in fellowship. Too often we view worship as a duty
at best and possibly even a drudgery; but, why shouldn’t
being in the presence of the Lord be something wonderful!
Thousands of years ago, when a group of believers gathered
with a renewed sense of worship, they were encouraged by
their worship leader to, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the
sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared;
for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the
joy of the Lord is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10).
This weekend many people will be gathering for what some
consider another time of spiritual renewal and I want to
encourage us all to share that same excitement. Let’s begin
to look forward to a wonderful weekend of worship … and when
it’s all said and done, let’s be joyous that we were there!
