“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Many people around the world speak of today as being “Good
Friday” and honor it as the day the Jesus was crucified. In
a sense of irony; how the world could anything having to do
with the execution of the perfect and sinless Son of God be
“good”. The answer is found in what happened a few hours
after His death – the good is found in His resurrection.
As we think about the “goodness” of today, I am reminded of
a passage of Scripture that notes, “… we know that God
causes all things to work together for good to those who
love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
(Romans 8:28). Interestingly, the manifestation of this
verse is found in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Are we going through tough times in our lives? If so, have
we ever considered what God is willing and able to do with
them? If God can produce spiritual healing through heinous
murder, anything is possible. As we worship this weekend,
let’s not just look for the salvation of the cross; but,
also see it’s lesson about God’s power in our lives!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
