“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
How quickly it all changed – going from Hosannas and palms
one week and the crucifixion the next. On that glorious
Spring Sunday, the people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus into
the city with praise; but, by the next Friday, they were
nailing Him to a tree. Yet, in the greatest act of
salvation, three days later God raised Jesus from the grave
to the throne!
As the world says good-bye to what some people call another
“Holy Week” it serves a reminder that there really is only
one constant in our world – God is in control. People can
be honorable one day and horrific the next; but, the key is
that God controls our world. All things will work on His
time table and produce His results. God will win; yet,
that is only part of the story. You see, when God wins, so
do His people. On that Sunday in the garden, the true gift
wasn’t just giving Jesus His earthly life back, it was in
providing believers with the salvation we so desperately
needed.
As we begin a new week, let’s remember God’s power in our
world – and His plan for our lives.
