“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

         We can say a lot about the world in which we live; but, there is no truer statement than we live in a fast-moving society.  Things change at such a rapid speed that it’s hard to keep up with what’s in and what’s out … what’s cool and what’s passé.  While a quickly evolving world can produce some great inventions, it can also be a breeding ground for things like changing values.  The same wave that brings about new products can bring about new standards.

          It’s great to live in a time that is on the cutting edge of technology; but, there needs to be a balance – something that keeps us anchored to reality.  Hundreds of years ago, when King David was looking for a solid standard in his life, he looked toward God and observed, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”  (Psalm 18:2)

          Let’s enjoy a society that is constantly changing; but, let’s not lose our grip on the truth that can and will last forever.
