“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Last week, as Jeane and I were driving around town, we kept
noticing and remarking at how beautiful the trees were. The
crabapples and plum trees are in radiant glory and we
couldn’t help but notice how they brightened up the whole
town. One day, we looked out our back window and to our
surprise we spotted one of the most colorful trees we had
seen anywhere. It was right in our back yard and we had
missed it.
It’s easy to see the blessings of others; but, when was the
last time we stopped and thought about how much we have? We
can spot God’s hand in the world around us; but, do we see
Him working in our lives? Too often, we become anxious
about what we don’t have; but, are we appreciative of what
we do have?
When Jesus taught His earliest disciples He noted, “Observe
how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do
they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his
glory did not clothe himself like one of these.”. (Matthew
6: 28-29) Are we willing to see God’s gifts in our own back
yard? If not, what are we missing?
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
