“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Are we easy to get along with? There are a lot of criteria
by which we judge successful living; but, rarely do we
reflect upon this one. Often we assess the amount of money
we have, the position we hold in our company or even the
status we have the community; but, when was the last time we
reflected upon this part of our personality?
Interestingly enough, when other people view us, our
approachability and agreeability are often the first
characteristics that come to mind. Ask someone about
another person and they will often assess them – not by how
much money they have; but, if they are friendly or ornery.
Your neighbors might not know what we do at our jobs; but,
they know if we are jovial or crotchety.
Thousands of years ago, a wise man observed, “Keeping away
from strife is an honor for a man, but any fool will
quarrel.” (Proverbs 20:3) Are we quick with a sharp tongue
or a kind word? Are we known for a smile or a sneer? Do we
spend more of our time arguing or agreeing? Remember, it’s
not just our community watching us, it’s also our Creator.
