“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Can you imagine what it would be like to have someone who is
constantly berating you, making fun of you and ignoring you
find themselves in trouble and have the audacity to ask you
for a favor? What kind of gall would it take for someone
who has little to do with us, or even worse, shows contempt
for us, turn around and ask us to do something for them?
While this might seem outrageous, this is a scenario that is
played out day-in and day-out. How many people, who, at
best have little connection with God and at worse show
disdain for Him, get themselves in a bind and then pray for
His help in getting them out? While we believe in a
merciful and forgiving God, I’m not sure that He’s always a
pushover. Centuries ago, a wise man noted this about God,
“He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, even
his prayer is an abomination.” (Proverbs 28:9)
Let’s do ourselves a favor. Let’s seek to please God before
trying to pray to Him.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
