“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
We have covered a variety of topics during our times together;
but, one thing that I can’t recall discussing is hunting.
If you follow hunting at all your probably realize
that this is the time of the year that it really gets going;
but, you might be wondering why we are discussing it here,
much less now. The answer is found in “stewardship”. In
the beginning God told man, “… rule over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing
that moves on the earth." (Genesis 1:28) In this simple
statement, God placed responsible cultivation and harvest of
His creation in the control of mankind. In our advanced
society, there will always be debates and discussions as to
the best way to do this; but, one thing is for sure, by
abusing the laws that regulate hunting either through
over-bagging or wanton waste we violate our responsibility
not only to God’s creation; but, also to God Himself.
If you are a hunter, enjoy the seasons and the
harvest. Yet, as we do, let’s remember our role as
caretakers of God’s world.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of
Christ; this is Charlie Wharton.
