“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
As
a daughter finished shoe-shopping with her mother; the older
lady turned to the child and asked, “Did you see that scowly
look that saleslady gave me?”. The daughter, filled with
the innocence and honesty of youth, said, “No, Mommy, that
lady didn’t give you that look, you had it when you went
into the store!”.
It would be nice if we could blame our moods on the people
around us; but, frankly most of our moods are homemade. We
might think that our issues are caused by the people we see
in the world; but, more often than not, they are created by
the one we see in the mirror.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could pick and choose today’s
mood. The good news is that we can and do. Unfortunately;
the bad news is also that we can and do. Our attitudes are,
more often than not, created before we meet the first person
outside our rooms in the morning.
What kind of day would we like to have? What kind of day
will we have? The answer to both of those questions is
probably up to us!
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
