“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

There
are three types of people around a hurricane. There are
those who hear the call for evacuation and flee, those who
ignore the evacuation orders and stay; then, there are those
who are attracted by the storm either as lookey-looes or as
first responders. While each of these groups could be a
subject in their right, those who choose to stay either from
a sense vain bravado or with an ignorance of the power
within the force may be in the most danger.
Hundreds of years ago, a wise man warned of a particular
type of people when he noted folly of “… feet that run
rapidly to evil …” (Proverbs 6:18) yet, just like in the
case of the storm, there may be another population in
trouble. When it comes to temptation, those who flee will
typically be safe; those who embrace it will be
swallowed-up; but, what about those who just hang around.
While some will ride-out the temptation; others will realize
too late that the temptation was stronger than expected or
their faith is weaker than they thought.
When we face something that could destroy us, let’s dump our
pride and make tracks to the safest place possible.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
