“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

          Can you imagine being a pioneer?  While the term can have a lot of meanings, when most of us in this country hear it we reflect back on those hearty men and women who boarded the Conestogas and headed West.  They had a vision of what they wanted to do … what they could do … and because of them, our nation is civilized.  They had the courage to try and the expertise to do.

         There are a lot of terms used to describe Jesus; but, I think that one which could be used is “The Great Pioneer”.  Jesus was not just a Teacher, He was someone who had to courage to spiritually go where no one had gone before.  He showed us what was possible and how to make it possible.  In describing how Jesus showed the disciples how to endure struggles, an early Christian writer noted that He left, “ … an example for you to follow in His steps.” (I Peter 2:21).

         Are we learning how to live by studying the One who left us the perfect example?  If not, we’re bound to end up on the wrong trail.
