“THINKABOUTIT” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

With the prevalence of so many news outlets it seems like we
are inundated with bad news. It seems like there is so much
evil going on in our world … and more and more, it appears
that people are getting away with it. Often we hear news
stories end with “the suspect is still at large” while other
times we get the feeling that, while the evil might be in
the news, everyone seems to just accept it for what it is.
Frankly, there are times when we just wonder, what ever
happened to the good and decent?
While it can be depressing listening to the goings-on in our
world, there is hope. An Old Testament prophet got a look
into the mind of Jehovah and noted, “The Lord is slow to
anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means
leave the guilty unpunished. In whirlwind and storm is His
way, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.” (Nahum 1:3)
Let’s pay attention to what’s going on in our world; but,
let’s not get too depressed, because God is watching, too.
Think about it! For the Madison Avenue Church of Christ;
this is Charlie Wharton.
